Valentimes . . .

Well, that's what my kids call it anyways.  :)  Or "Balentimes."  Either is acceptable.

I myself love to be inspired by Valentines Day, but I seldom do anything about it.  I just like the excuse to go out on a date with my Hubby.  And not cook.  Except tonight, I will be cooking because we've found in our experience that going out on a date on the day itself usually results in long waits and headaches.  Even with reservations.  So, we'll wait till this weekend-ish.  Then we'll go on a hot date.  :)

So in the spirit of the season, here's a free printable for you that someone else made!!  Hahaha!!  My generosity is remarkable. :)

Happy Valentines Day!!  May your heart be joyful!!!
Sincerely,
Hannah

DIY That I'm Actually Going To Do . . .

As you may know, I like Pinterest, and I have gabillions of pins that inspire me to make lovely and useful and not so useful things.  It's about time I tried to actually DO some of those, I think.

Tutorial here: Apartment Therapy
Starting small... here's my today project:

Making my earbuds pretty and most likely slightly less likely to turn into a Maniacally Mangled Mess.  I hate Maniacally Mangled Messes.  They Make Me Mad.

Tutorial here: Erin Erickson

Next, I'm going to make a pouch for those Non-Messy earbuds that I can stick in my purse.  This way, my earbuds wont get Terribly and Tenaciously Tangled in my keys and everything else they Touch.  Isn't it Terrific?

Sincerely,
Hannah

Sew Inspired . . .

As my sister is drawing closer and closer to giving birth to her first I have been sewing like a fiend.  It's not fair.  I wish I had been so inspired when mine were littler, but it's fun to take it out on her!!

As you may have noticed, I am entirely inconsistent on this blog.  I would like to say sorry.  I really am sorry, but frankly, posts take time, and when you're sewing like a fiend like I am, well.... tough noogies.  There's only sew many moments in the day.  (that was on purpose.)

Naturally, as a practically professional blogger, I took no pictures of the gifts I made her. (dang it)  Sorry.

receiving a box of love from us (sorry it's unedited)

I was so thankful to grow up in their love

On a completely different subject, my Pastor and his wife have retired.  That hasn't been easy.  Rick has been my Pastor for the past 24 years..... (holy moly) and it's a bit tough to imagine church without him and Sylvia.  I treasure them both.  They are surrogate parents to me.  We had a farewell gig for them at church with lots of singing, sharing memories, encouragement, tears, and love.  Our temporary Pastor (I can't remember the correct term), Travis, is wonderful and a long-term member of our church, so that helps.  It's not the same, but change is also opportunity for a new growing opportunity.

Well, that's all for now.  I'm late.
Blessings,
 Hannah

Good Gift Or Weird Gift ?

From Fleece Fun
I am a Pinterest girl.  I love to be inspired and I love to create.  I enjoy making the gifts I give others.  These are all true things.

Something I'm uncertain about, however, is:

Is a handmade pillow really a good gift?  Or is it just weird?
From Whit & Whistle

I don't know.  I feel like it's kinda weird.
And yet....
There's some really cool pillow inspiration out there......
Hmmmmm......

I just don't even ever know.

Hannah

Warm Fuzzies . . .

One of my favorite things about fall and winter is the opportunity to wear yummy warm scarves and sweaters...  I absolutely LOVE them.  Bein's as I'm a knitter, I get extremely inspired to knit up lots and lots of warm fuzzy things to warm my loved ones.  I wish I could show you all the things I'm working on right now, but if I did, then Christmas wouldn't be much of a surprise!!

Last night, before we flew my oldest son, Talben back home to his Mom's house far far away, we decorated our Christmas tree.  I handed out the ornaments to the kids to hang on their favorite branch, and the handsome hubby put the lights on the tree.  Our tree is filled with lights and ornaments collected and made over our lifetimes.  It's fun to pull out all those ornaments and remember the Christmases past...  ahhh.... memories.... :)   Someday, I would love to decorate a tree that's pretty and perfect, but for now, in this season of my life, my pretty perfect tree is full of memories and wonky ornaments crafted by sticky little hands, and it warms my heart. :)

My prayer for you is that your tree (if you choose to have one) fills your heart with joy and warmth this Christmas season.
Blessings,
Hannah

hello there ! ! !

It's me.  I did in fact fall off the face of the earth, but I found my way back.

I'm starting back up in the whole blogging thang again, but I won't be a daily blogger.  Hope that's fine with you all.

Life is moving along at it's usual headlong pace.  Noah is doing well in school and LOVES it.  The day he missed school he was pretty emotional about it!!  This is a good thing.
Possible knitted gift for Aubrey. heh heh..

I am currently scrambling on Christmas presents, knitting up a storm, and sewing up a mess.... well, maybe not a mess.... I'm making a lot of messes in the process.  :)

Wish I could post some of it, but that would just give it away!!!

I'll post some stuff I'm inspired by soon....

Blessings,
Hannah

I also wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to my youngest sister and her man.  I am looking forward to welcoming baby Oskar in February!!!! I can't wait to smooch him!!!!

(Hopefully, he won't resemble you two too much!!!!)

Takin' A Break . . .

3 years old.... seems like yesterday.

As you may have noticed, I haven't been too on top of posting on my blog.  I apologize.

I think I need to take a break from it.  Need to focus on healing up and getting Noah (and myself) ready for the upcoming school year.  Kindergarten already!!!  Oy.

I'll be back.  Just not yet :)

Hugs and Blessings,
Hannah

History Lesson . . .

'Ponce a time there was a girl.

(ahem, me)
and she decided one day to go on a trip.
For two years.
(she was 19 by the way)
And live on a ship.

Home Sweet Home

Soooo she did.
And it was an adventure.
(this was quite a while ago)
She got to see lots of wonderful places.
And eat lots of wonderful (and terrifying) food.
And meet amazing people all over the world.
And live with 200 people from 40 nationalities.

that's me at 19 in the blue bandanna

Yup.

Still miss those days.

And this is me in the cowboy hat.

Just reminiscin is all.
:)
Blessings,
Hannah
